What PulseWave is, in one paragraph.
PulseWave is an iPhone app in launch phase for breathing, meditation and sleep — built as a toolkit rather than a content library. Its current repository contains 30 breathing patterns with direct, adjacent or practice-level evidence labels; 50+ guided meditations; a real-time sound studio; and an AI coach whose inference runs on the phone via llama.rn. Prompts are not sent to an external model provider; Firebase-backed app records, purchases, diagnostics and opt-in analytics use the service providers described in the Privacy Policy.
Made by HighRoad Software in Belgium. The repository plans a free core covering the breathing library, core meditations, journal and programs. The public offer is not live. Wellness tool — not a medical device.
Tools you can use in a difficult minute.
Guided resets, paced breathing, and a sound mixer — shown here in the current English iPhone build.
Three things. That's it.
Breath, mind, and sleep are the levers research keeps pointing to. PulseWave gives you a serious toolkit for each — not a content library, a toolkit.
Breath
30 breathing patterns, each built around a specific pacing goal. From a 60-second micro-reset to 20-minute coherence sessions. Haptic pacing. Every pattern states its evidence level.
30 breathing patternsMind
50+ guided sessions organized by function: stress, focus, sleep, MBSR, CBT, compassion. Six structured programs from 7 to 30 days that don't expire.
50+ sessionsSleep
A real-time synthesis engine with binaural beats, isochronic pulses, and brainwave presets. Narrated sleep journeys from 10 to 45 minutes.
4-track studioBuilt for the moment you actually need it.
Breathwork
The right pattern for the right moment.
PulseWave includes 30 breathing patterns, each structured around a different practice goal. Cyclic Sighing is presented alongside a 2023 Cell Reports Medicine study by Balban et al. Box Breathing offers a steady pattern for pressure moments, Sleep Ladder 3-6-9 is designed for wind-down, Coherent Breathing provides an even 0.1 Hz pace, and The evidence library separates direct research, adjacent evidence and practice-level rhythms. Research references are educational and do not guarantee individual results.
- 30 breathing patterns with transparent evidence notes
- Haptic pacing — close your eyes, phone keeps the rhythm
- Sessions from 60 seconds to 20 minutes
Breathe in · Hold · Out
Sound studio
Not a playlist. A synthesis engine.
The sound studio synthesizes audio in real time. Four independent tracks — each with its own base sound, wave modulation, binaural offset for hemispheric entrainment, and isochronic pulse layer. A 5-band EQ shapes the output. Brainwave presets (Delta for deep sleep, Theta for meditation, Alpha for relaxation, Beta for focus) handle the parameters automatically. Save unlimited custom presets.
- Real-time 4-track synthesis — no pre-mixed files
- Binaural beats + isochronic pulses + 5-band EQ
- Brainwave presets: Delta · Theta · Alpha · Beta · Gamma
AI Coach
A coach that stays on your phone.
The coaching feature uses a local language model running on your device, without sending prompts to an external AI API. It reads mood check-ins and session history to offer optional practices and CBT-style reframes; it is not therapy or medical advice. The current repository can store underlying journal, mood and eligible practice records in an authenticated per-user Firebase record under an anonymous or linked user ID; AI inference remains on-device.
- 100% on-device inference — no prompts sent to a cloud AI service
- Journal mood analysis + CBT thought reframing
- Adaptive session recommendations based on your history
Structure for people who don't want to figure it out.
Six guided programs that combine breathing, meditation, and journaling in a daily sequence. Pick one and follow it — no decisions required.
